Before ear reshaping surgery: Simply book a consultation at one of our nationwide clinics where you'll be amicably and warmly welcomed and trained professionals will sit down with you personally to discuss what you want.
Typical duration: Relatively short procedure typically lasting 2-3 hours.
Pinnaplasty or Otoplasty/Ear reshaping can be performed with local or general anaesthetic, general being used mainly for children as they won't feel any pain. There is usually no need for an overnight stay after surgery is performed.
Once you are undergoing ear surgery/ear reshaping, here's what will happen: A small incision will be made at the back of the ear to reveal the ear cartilage, then the cartilage(gristly tissue) from behind the ear will be reshaped. Plastic stiches will pin the ears back, also referred to as "pinning". The insision marks will be naturally hidden within the fold behind the ear.
Once the stitching is done to close the incisions, a soft bandage will be wrapped around the head and over the ears keeping them in the desired position and protecting them at the same time. Bandages will need to be worn for a week or so, then stiches will be able to be taken out, once that’s done results will be visible immediately.
